Mermaid Jug
Hand-built decorative jug inspired by an Early Bronze Age Cypriot artefact. The fish scale motif was carved when the clay was still soft. After the first firing the motif was inlaid with a glaze containing zinc and chrome oxide and straight after the whole piece was covered with a titanium and rutile oxide crater glaze, it was fired to an oxidising atmosphere at 1280 °C.
